I have two original kenner alien 19 inch figures. I got them on eBay when eBay was still very new. I used to see them at the toy store window in town around the time my folks were splitting. I wanted it but I knew my folks at the time could not afford it at the time so I never asked for one, but I went to the mall after school and looked at it in the window. The kid down the block had one his folks bought for him at the same toy shop. I had some old Legos (he had a big collection of space Legos too) and tried to trade him my Legos for his alien but he offered me his Micronaught set instead. I took the deal as I was too old for my Legos by then. I was too old for toys too but this one was banned for being too scarey for kids and because of that the one remaining in the toy window was priced way over retail price too. I gave up on getting one until eBay. I won the loose figures I have for fifty bucks each which was such a low price the guy that sold one of them to me told me I was taking the shirt off his back because he was in college paying for books, so he packed it in a sweaty gym shirt. The other one was missing a part and both were missing the domes. (If you have one for sale email me.) I wound up getting a replacement dome on line for about 30 bucks.
...which brings me to Gentle Giant. As much as I love the new bigger re pops they are making the cost very close to what I paid for my first car. About 500 or so. They also make big Star Wars and he man re pops wich are about 100 to 200 each. I always wanted one complete with the box, but at these prices that's a no go kemosabe, so I will dust off my old ones and dream about 1979. Maybe I'll put on the clash combat rock and dance around the room too...
